Yes, I like M-no-M. The last line seemed to wrap up all the loose ends. On the one hand, that was a good place to stop the story. On the other hand, I want to know more - what happened next? But, that is what a good story does, leaves the reader wanting and asking questions.
Technically, though, I think you went long on the explanation and short changed on the narrative for it. You know, that old show don't tell thing. I think it could only make a good story better.

3 of my 6 favorite series are manga!
manga CAN be just like you described, but most of it is pretty well-thought-out.
all of the manga that i own (which is quite a lot) - with the possible excepion of Inuyasha, which seems to go on FOREVER - have interesting plots, and most of them seem to be very well-thought-out, and i have actually learned a bit about genetics from one series. (actually, that's one of my favorite series)
i would say that i am not going to talk to you for a while, but that wouldn't mean much, as i am going to be in Scotland for twelve days, leaving tomorrow.

p.s. - one of my two favorite video game series, Kingdom Hearts, has a manga based off of each of the games.
